What is AI Adventure?

Traditional interactive fiction follows a script. AI Adventure takes a different approach.

Each adventure describes a world, its rules, important truths, characters and goals, while the AI creates a unique playthrough based on the player's choices.

The result is an adventure that remains recognisable between playthroughs, while allowing different conversations, discoveries, puzzles and solutions to emerge naturally.

Open Framework

AI Adventure is designed to work across many capable AI systems rather than being tied to a single AI provider or platform.

The AI Adventure Guide, Adventure Format and example adventures are all released under the Creative Commons CC0 licence, encouraging anyone to create, modify, share and build upon compatible adventures.

Philosophy

AI Adventure separates the adventure from the AI that runs it.

Rather than scripting every possible action, adventures describe worlds, rules, characters, discoveries and immutable truths. This allows different AI systems to interpret the same adventure in their own way while remaining faithful to the author's intent.
